Obama as President

 The Pledge of Responsibility

MySpace Celebrity and Katalyst present The Presidential Pledge

Now my personal challenge to others will be: How many will pledge to adopt a stretch of highway with me as a simple ongoing service to this Island and country?

I went to the Obama Service site and initiated an event. It's gonna be fairly simple. Two times monthly we go out and spend a couple hours picking up trash. But I have anxiety, even fear, that my pledge will be broken; for I can do very little of this alone.

 Sarah Palin: Self-Exposed Drama Ditz

HAWAII - Sarah Palin, realizing she no longer lives at news central, finally coming to a recognition of her personal failures in her vice presidential run, now calls the media's reporting on her family "very scary".

Palin complained in the video that her press office is still getting calls about rumors that she is not the mother of her infant son. She characterized this notion as "quite absurd," in spite of personally fueling the speculation by refusing to show basic evidence in support of her contention.

Where Palin remains unwilling in providing a birth certificate, she fans the flames. While running with John McCain, she left little revealed about herself and her family. We have learned a great deal more about her family after the national press, God bless them, began their investigation.

Repeating Atlantic blogger Andrew Sullivan's question "Why has Palin not released medical records proving she is the boy's mother."

Palin asked: "Why do reporters choose to believe lies, reporters especially not just taking one extra step to get to the facts?

Reporters never believe lies. They believe the most credible information made available to them.

Now, once again Palin will finally reveal fashionably late the requested paperwork and once again wrap herself about with the fictional cape of victim.

Tina Fey's "Saturday Night Live" impersonation cemented the ditzy Palin. By going on the show Sarah Palin embraced the parody. Now she reinforces it.

Sarah in her new 12 MPG Dodge Viper. Do we have a problem with personal potency, Sarah? Open your eyes, Sarah.

And we are so grateful to our President and his Dad. The fellow on top of the horse pucky is saying, "There's a pony down there somewhere."

 Post Traumatic Stress

He remains exactly as he claimed and what Obama supporters have assured.

This will be lost to unrepentent Republicans. Blinking at the current moderate, even conservative choices Obama has made for his Cabinet, the minority Republican of this electorate will sound alien to you when you converse with them. Consider them to be impaired thru post traumatic stress syndrome. I'm not joking. Treat them gently.

But let's raise a mug to ourselves and all we have begun to do together. As you know, there is much more "we, the people" must do. But the moment is deserved.

Significant Trend in the Renewed Acceptance of the Democratic Party

Republican leadership asked the question, "Who is Obama?". Now they need to determine what it is that shattered the Republican Party so many years ago. They aren't asking the right questions now that they say they are already selected their new leadership. The question clearly is "Who does the Republican Party represent? The answer is for the most part under-educated rural whites who fight to maintain the status quo.

The most entrenched Republicans that I know have it so wrong about the Democratic Party because they can't see the changed landscape even now.

I congratulate the former Republicans that have joined the Obama Presidency.

Although top strategist Karl Rove proclaimed the arrival of a permanent Republican majority in 2000, such is never the case when considering any people. Just four years later, the results from Sen. Barack Obama's definitive victory suggest new truths.

The old Republican guard with blinders securely affixed remark that Obama appealed mostly to naïve, young voters, Hispanics and other ethnic minorities who wanted jealously a dwindling commodity ……. whatever it is Republicans have. And in doing so, they got more of them out there because of the charismatic Obama. What the remaining Republicans fail to see is that the highly educated whites in growing metropolitan areas have moved to the Democratic Party. Obama won 50% of the suburban vote because Obama is more centrist than McCain. And being more intelligent, and younger, and more inclusive, and level headed didn't hurt.

What is it about Obama that would change the political minds of highly educated whites?

Well, the answer to me seems to be found in why he did not appeal to the less educated whites epitomized by those found in states like Tennessee or Kentucky. Well, like Palin, these voters cannot draw from a learned world and US history. They do not know WHAT they do not know. So they are not busy learning either.

In this respect, I’m certain there are leaders and there are followers. The leaders have a more open world view of matters. They have left behind old ideological pinpoint issues that dominate the minds of current Republicans.

In this way, I remain deeply grateful for this America. I am also a citizen of the world. The world needs the stability of a powerful America. Obviously, we have come to see the economic consequence to the world when America dwindles first in leadership, then economically.
